Beloved Little Sister of Kānehunamoku
Kānehunamoku Voyaging Academy has a new waʻa, Kuʻupōkiʻialoha! Our 8th grade interns spent the year working alongside KVA to hoʻomākaukau Tuʻu and for the final assembly, MHPCS collaborated with HMK to kōkua KVA in the lashing of their newest waʻa - Tuʻu. Tuʻu was at HMK starting March 17th and was launched at Kualoa on May 1, just in time for 6th grade sail!
It was beautiful way for our ʻohana, haumana and community to aloha aku - to give back and show appreciation for the ʻike, time and care our partners pour into our haumāna. Over the course of 6 weeks, so many people came together to learn, work, and give back while engaging in traditional practices of our kūpuna.
