Papa Makani Koʻolau took a break from projects to visit Kānehūnāmoku for our last waʻa day of the school year. Haumāna used their kilo skills to observe the horizon, the weather, and ocean conditions. We also reviewed waʻa parts and the Kukuluokalani, the Hawaiian Star Compass.
Back in the classroom, haumāna are working on finishing up their final pieces to complete their projects before we reflect and prepare for Trimester 3 Hōʻike Project Interviews. We have haumāna teaching lessons to ʻohana and friends, completing service projects, writing testimony on water bills, and creating PSAs. All the projects will show their year long learning in wai and how they can take what they learned and put it into action to be kiaʻi of wai.
