Wishing the Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia Crew well as the World Wide Voyage embarks on the first leg of their voyage to Tahiti!
The community came together in a beautiful day of celebration, well wishes, filled with inspiration and hope sending Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia off for Hilo on May 17th. Now, waiting for the right weather conditions, we keep the crew in our thoughts and prayers as they prepare for the journey ahead. Mālama Honua the Worldwide Voyage and on-line learning center have launched and we persist with our preparations for the public charter schoolʻs opening day.
We continue to have positive movement with finalizing St. Matthew's as our initial site for our kula and welcome new founding families on a regular basis as we get closer each day to reaching our capacity. We still have a few spots open so please continue to spread the word about Mālama Honua Public Charter School.
We are excited to welcome another kumu- Kapiʻolani Nee to our team. We are so pleased to have such amazing talent and leadership added to our school.
